Austria’s Kaprun, or Zell am See-Kaprun, is a well-known ski resort located in the state of Salzburg, famous for its accessibility to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, which towers above the village. The area is a year-round sports centre, where visitors can enjoy excellent skiing conditions, as well as mountain biking, camping, golf, hiking, and more during the summer months. The town is also home to Taurn Spa World, Austria’s second largest spa; an ideal place to unwind after a long day of activities, as well as the Mooserboden hydroelectric plant, where tourists can discover fantastic views of the village and its surroundings.

Kaprun is located high in the Austrian Alps, in the Pinzgau region at the foot of the famous Kitzsteinhorn glacier. The town is conveniently reached from Salzburg. If flying, Salzburg Airport is about 80 km away, and is connected via shuttle, train, car, or taxi. If driving, you can access the area via the B-311 motorway.

Business: A tourist resort and popular business destination

The economy of Kaprun is dominated by its place as a tourist resort. Many of the businesses here operate in the service sector with more than 770,000 overnight stays at various hotels and resorts. The town is also home to the Ferry Porsche Congress Centre, a popular and stunning venue for business functions.

Culture: Witness historic monuments and natural beauty

There are some impressive attractions to witness during your stay. The 12th century Kaprun Castle is certainly worth a visit and is often the location of various cultural events, concerts, and festivals throughout the year.
