Mayrhofen is a small resort town in the Austrian Alps. It is located in the Zillertal Valley in the state of Tyrol, and is known throughout the world as one of Europe’s premier ski resorts. Here, you’ll have the ability to ski year round while also having access to hiking, mountain biking, and other activities during the warm summer months. As a tourist destination, Mayrhofen has been popular with visitors for over a hundred years and is packed with hotels and resorts ranging from budget to luxurious. Whether young or old, Mayrhofen is a beautiful village that offers something for everyone at any time of the year.

Location: Near Innsbruck in the Austrian Alps!

This popular mountain resort is found in the state of Tyrol, in the Zillertal Valley, about 650m above sea level. If flying, the closest major airport is in the city of Innsbruck. There are regular trains that run here, and the town is served by the A12 and B169 motorways.

Business: Tourism-based resort town

The economy of Mayrhofen can be described as very tourism-heavy. The town relies heavily on its visitors who fill the many hotels, resorts, spas, restaurants, and bars throughout the year, and many of the jobs here are in hospitality and tourism. For meeting spaces, you will find that many of the areas resorts provide conference centres.

Culture: Festivals, theatres, and excellent gastronomy!

Mayrhofen is well known for its array of musical performances and festivals throughout the year, particularly the famous Snowbombing festival, which combines snowboarding and music around the time of early April. The town is also a place of national and international cuisine, and a large selection of excellent restaurants can be found here. Also, make sure you take part in some of the traditional Austrian events that take place in the town centre!

Activities are the reason to visit Mayrhofen. In the winter months, it is one of Europe’s premier ski and snowboard locations, bringing visitors from around the world. In the summer months, there is still snow to be had, but many of the town’s visitors spend their time getting involved in other activities like hiking, mountain biking, climbing, and golfing. There is also a large amount of spas in the village, making relaxation a very easy thing to do!
