Sölden – Largest Municipality in the Country
Location: In the Ötztal Valley
This municipality covers over 400 square kilometers and can accommodate up to 15, 000 tourists at a time. The elevation is nearly 1, 400 meters above sea level in the main village, but the upper portions get up to over 2, 000 meters above sea level. The second largest mountain in Austria is located within the city and so is the second highest paved road in Europe. The Alps here contains several glaciers.
