Cirencester is located in Gloucestershire, England, 93 miles from London. A market town, it is the largest in the Cotswold District. The town lies on the River Churn and is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, founded in 1840. For a stroll and some fresh air, visit Cirencester House, the seat of Earl Bathurst, dating back to 1714. The building is the site of one of the finest landscape gardens in England. There are many historic buildings to see in the streets of Cirencester, including the site of a Roman amphitheatre.
