Toulouse is a city that has it all. The jewel of south-western France is a perfect place to excite your taste buds, learn, and discover. The area may be best known for its rich gastronomy, which includes fine local products like foie gras, cassoulet, and various cheeses, and, of course, excellent wines. Location: South-western France in the Midi-Pyrenees

The city can be found in south-western France on the banks of the Garonne River. It is the fourth largest city in France, and can be reached by all modes of transportation. By air, the city is served by the Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, just 8 km from the city centre. Additionally, the city is reached by train at Toulouse Matabiau station, and can be accessed by car via multiple motorways coming from all directions.

Business: A major hub for aeronautics and technologies

A dynamic city, Toulouse is one that is represented by many industries, most notably aeronautics. The airplane manufacturer Airbus has its headquarters in the nearby town of Blagnac, which includes the assembly lines of its major airplanes. Other important industries in the area include space, electronics, information technology, and biotechnology.

Culture: Historical monuments, museums, and gardens!

Toulouse has a rich cultural heritage to discover, filled with historic monuments, art, museums, and natural sites. The area’s most sought after monuments are found in the city centre and include the beautiful Capitole, the City Hall, and the Musée Saint-Raymond, among others. Also, be sure to check out the Royal Garden and the Rue Ozenne street to get a feel of the green side of the city.

With so much to do, it can be hard to choose! This city can easily entertain you with its excellent shopping on Rues d’Alsace-Lorraine and Saint-Rome. It is also a cycle-friendly city, and a day on the bike should definitely be a part of your plans.
