In south-west Germany in the state of Baden-Württemberg is the popular business district of Böblingen. Its reputation as the “Silicon Valley of Europe” is one that is well deserved, bringing in more than 3,500 patents per year. Here, you can find the headquarters of many technology companies, including IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Philips, to name a few. Location: In south-west Germany near Stuttgart

Böblingen is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg in south-west Germany. As a popular business location, the town is easily reached by all major modes of transportation. If arriving by air, Stuttgart Airport is just 20 km away. The city is also connected by rail, and can be accessed at the local station. If driving, you can arrive via the A8 and A81 motorways.

The town is a major business hub for both the technology and automotive industries and has earned itself the reputation as being the “Silicon Valley of Europe”. Here, you will find the business headquarters of companies that include Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Moog, and Daimler AG. These companies and more are responsible for more than 3,500 patents every year.

Culture: Lots of museums and cultural attractions to witness

During your stay, you will find a wealth of cultural resources at your fingertips. There are some great day trip attractions to witness outside the city centre, including romantic castles, palaces, and monasteries. Be sure to check out the stunning castle of Burg Hohenzollern! When in town, explore some of the great museums like the Municipal Gallery, and if you are a car lover, then the Porsche Museum and the Mercedes Museum are just a short drive away in Stuttgart!

You can find plenty of activities in the area, from shopping and spas to swimming and sports. The Old Town is a popular location for an afternoon and offers some great shops as well as some delicious places to eat. You can also find relaxation after a long day at the local wellness spa. There is a popular public swimming pool in the area ,equipped with an olympic-sized pool, fun slides for the kids, and several Jacuzzis!
