Location: In Central Germany on the borders of the Rhine River
Eltville is located in central Germany on the Rhine river, nearby to Frankfurt. The closest large city, Wiesbaden, is just 14km away. The city is most easily reached by train or car via the A66 motorway. For distant travellers arriving by plane, Eltville can be reached by way of Frankfurt International Airport.

Eltville is not known as being a large tourist city, however, it does cater to good amounts of tourism throughout the year. Its largest industry is that of wine and sekt (sparkling wine) production. Visitors have the opportunity to visit wineries and enjoy much of what the city produces. Many of the area’s wineries and hotels are well suited for business meetings and seminars.
Culture: Residence of nobility and clergy
Eltville is a romantic place that once was a place where nobility and clergy made their home. The banks of the Rhine River are lined with the elaborate estates and villas of these aristocrats, and the town contains several stunning castles that are available for visit. Eltville is also a town that enjoys a rich wine history. Much of the businesses and culture of this area revolve around its wine production.
