Nürburg is most famous for its 24-kilometer racetrack, known as the Nürburgring. One of the Formula 1 grand prix races uses five kilometers of the track, and it is frequently used by the automobile industry. The town is also the location of a well-known castle that shares its name. The origins of the area and the castle are not known, but there is archeological evidence that there have been settlers in the area since ancient times. The castle is a significant attraction of the entire region, and from its base, visitors have a beautiful panoramic view that can reach Cologne on a clear day.

Location: A City in the Heart of Germany

The city is located in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, in the district of Ahrweiler. It is easily accessible by car and by train. The closest airport is the Cologne/Bonn airport, which is about 80 kilometers from the city. Frankfurt International Airport lies about 160 kilometers east of Nürburg.

Business: The Nürburgring at the center of the action

Tourism and the Nürburgring activities provide a significant amount of industry for the local economy. The event hall at the Nürburgring, known as the Graf Ulrich Hall, can host events from 50 people up to 500. It has multifunctional facilities, so it can meet the requirements of almost any event or meeting.

Culture: The Highest Castle in the Region

Nürburg Castle dates back to the High Middle Ages. The name comes from the Latin for black, since it was built of basalt, which typically is black. It is a characteristic feature of the Eifel area and one of the most significant castles of the region, although its exact history is not known. There is first written reference to the area in 954. It is the highest castle of the Rhineland-Pfalz, and from the castle, visitors can see the Cologne Cathedral on a clear day.
