Location: Midway between Costa Smeralda and Porto Rafael
On Sardinia's north coast lies the pretty little town of Arzachena, just 28 kilometres north of the International Airport at Olbia. Culture: Marvel at the Tomb of the Giants
5,000 years of history can be found in the Arzachena Archaeological Park with monuments from the Neolithic age to the Bronze Age, on display in the middle of the rugged and beautiful Sardinian countryside. The Giants Tombs (Coddu Vecchiu) are the collective burial sites of the Nuragic civilisation, and show amazing pieces of funeral architecture in remarkably preserved conditions and are unique to the island.

With many sporting events taking place throughout the year, sports fans will not be disappointed in Arzachena. Sailors delight in the excitement of the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship each summer, which is closely followed by the Perini Navi Cup. On land, Arzachena is the location for the Polo Gold Cup, and attracts some of the finest horses and jockeys from all over the world. Towards the end of summer, the country lanes and hillsides are alive with the clicking of cameras and the roar of the rally cars that are taking part in the Rally d'Italia e Sardegna in a high-octane mix of adrenaline and speed.
