This city is not just your typical Lake Garda resort town. It has a rich history and culture still to this day, making it more than a traditional Italian village. It has only been a hotspot for tourism for the last century, but it has certainly made up for lost time. Many mostly intact remnants from Roman times can still be seen around the city. However, the wine culture draws in just as many if not more people than its historical sites. Even museums are dedicated to the making of wine and the many vineyards in the area. This lakeside getaway also offers many festivals each years for the over 6,000 residents to enjoy.

Location: Popular Resort on Lake Garda

This Italian vacation spot sits on the eastern shore of Lake Garda in the Veneto region, a popular resort lake in Italy. Its lakefront views are always a draw for those looking for a place to relax and enjoy some great scenery. It is about 130 kilometers west of Venice in the Province of Verona, and the famous city of Verona is merely 30 kilometers away. Its climate and location make it perfect for the vineyards that flourish in the area.

Culture: Nature and Ancient Churches

Traces of history from the Roman Empire are scattered throughout the city, and many of these are in the form of churches. One of the oldest is the Church of San Zeno, built in the 9th century. It is one of the few Carolingian buildings in all of Italy. Another important church is Church of San Severo, containing a medieval crypt. For those more into nature, the Museo Sisàn is a museum dedicated to fishing and bird hunting, two common activities in the area.

Activities: Wine Cellars, Shopping, and Nightlife

Wine is what brings so many to Bardolino, and visitors can enjoy touring the many wine cellars throughout the city and tasting the exquisite wine the city is known for. However, this Italian resort town has much more to offer. Shopping is a unique experience with leather goods, designer clothing, and a farmer’s market. When the sun goes down, the fun comes out. Primo Life Club offers dining, dancing, and a piano bar, and many of the hotels have live music on a regular basis.
