Porto's magical atmosphere centres around its riverfront. Head downtown to find excellent restaurants, cafés and bars along the Douro. You should definitely sample some port, a sweet wine made locally in the area. Porto's food speciality is cod fish, and one of the best places to try this is at the Bacalhau restaurant. Alternatively, grab a sangria and watch the sun set over the hills.
