With over 9,000 residents, Lluc Major is one of the largest municipalities on the island of Majorca, known worldwide for its natural beauty. The town is perfectly situated on the island, less than 20km away from the capital city Palma, and in close proximity to some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches, including Cala Pi. Lluc Major is ideally located, within close proximity to the international airport, Son Sant Joan. There is a shuttle service available to reach Lluc Major, however, it is recommended to rent a car for your convenience while on the island of Majorca. From Lluc Major, it is 20km to Palma, the capital city, and similarly located to some of the best beaches Majorca has to offer. To reach the city centre by car, find the PM-19 motorway, which connects to the airport directly to the town.

Business: Manufacturing and craft goods

Lluc Major is commonly referred to as a rural area with an economy that is based on craft goods mainly, shoemaking, stone and metal working, and stone masonry. The city is also a growing tourist region, however, it is still in its infancy compared to that of Palma. There are also several large companies here, which include the Air Europa headquarters. The city is also home to a town hall, which hosts many of the large business meetings and conferences.

Culture: Historic buildings and Bronze Age settlements

One of the oldest monuments on Majorca exists in the southern part of Lluc Major. The prehistoric settlement of Capocorb Vell has been around since the Bronze Age, and is a highlight of the city. The area is also home to several historic churches and buildings, including the Parish Church of Sant Miquel. Be sure to visit the lighthouse on Cap Blanc for stunning views of the sea and an interesting look into the traditional way of life.
