What makes this Florida State city so unique is that hardly any buildings in the business district climb higher than three stories tall. Because of this, and unlike other major cities, you never feel crowded in Kissimmee, even with a population of almost 64,000. For many visitors the city is a convenient place to stay for the nearby theme parks, but it also has so much to offer. Take a walk through the Lakefront Park and see locals and visitors alike relax in the warm Florida sunshine, eating ice cream, and perhaps attempting to catch the elusive Bass fish that swim through the shaded waters. For a true taste of the old landscape, grab one of the guided Airboat tours and come face to face with the famous Florida alligators and other wildlife, and see how the area looked before the land was reclaimed back in the 1880's.

Location: On the north shore of Lake Tohopekaliga

Settled in amongst Florida's lakes and just 35 kilometres south of Orlando via Highway 441 puts Kissimmee in an ideal location for visiting the theme parks and attractions nearby. It is centrally positioned between Tampa, 100 kilometres to the west, and Melbourne, 88 kilometres to the east, both easily reachable from the highways that bypass the city. The nearest international airport is under 30 kilometres away on the outskirts of Orlando.

Business: Easy access, great weather, and stunning venues

The city prides itself on having over a million square feet, or almost 93,000 square metres, of available space for conventions and exhibitions in over 300 venues specifically designed for businesses. With excellent access throughout the city to all venues and hotels, Kissimmee helps the business traveller turn a good meeting into a great one.

Culture: Follow the crowds to Main Street

Downtown Kissimmee has recently undergone major re-development works, and Main Street is now one of the favourite attractions for visitors. Local businesses regularly promote music, theatre, and artistic events that take place along the sidewalks and in the public areas of the Old Town. Sculpture is a main feature of this area, with many pieces displayed by local galleries and world-renowned artists for you to discover and enjoy as you partake of an evening stroll, soaking up the atmosphere.

Activities: Theme parks for families and the young at heart

Being so close to Orlando means that many travellers use Kissimmee as a convenient place to stay when visiting the fun-filled theme parks nearby. With Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and Epcot on your doorstep, to name just a few, it is difficult to fit all the possibilities in within a visitor's normal timescale.
